Autonomous Time Capture WiseTime operates passively in the background, recording user activity without requiring attorneys to start or stop a timer. Activity is collated into a private daily timeline that is visible only to the individual user until they choose to post it.

Automatic Case Detection and Auto-Tagging Case references and matter IDs are automatically detected within activity logs and tagged to the corresponding matter. Case references sync in real time from connected practice management systems, and the tagging function is assisted by AI machine learning that improves accuracy over time.

AI-Generated Narratives A one-click AI narrative feature generates a description of recorded activities suitable for use in client invoices. A preferences add-on allows users to customize narrative style or generate descriptions in additional languages.

Billing System Integration WiseTime connects to more than 20 practice management and billing platforms. Time entries posted through WiseTime flow directly into the connected billing system, with activity allocated to the correct client or case file.

Team Management and Reporting Administrators can connect remote or distributed teams, access team dashboards, and generate reports filtered by user, date, and category. Reports can be exported as PDF or CSV. The platform also supports management of varied contract types, including full-time and contract staff.

Timezone Handling The tool automatically detects and documents timezone changes as users travel between time zones, ensuring accurate time records regardless of location.

Privacy by Design Each user's activity timeline remains fully private until they choose to share or post it. Users can configure exclusion rules to omit personal activity from capture, set personal data retention periods, and invoke the right to be forgotten in compliance with GDPR. The tool cannot be used as an employee monitoring tool by administrators.

Open API and Custom Connections WiseTime provides a public API and a Java-based open source library, enabling custom integrations with systems not covered by pre-built connectors. Connections can be hosted behind the firm's own firewall.
