Trial Commander
Trial Commander is a cloud-based law firm operating platform designed for small and mid-size civil litigation practices, combining case and matter management, trial preparation, document drafting, time and billing, and trust accounting into a single matter-centric record.
Key features and functions include:
Trial Readiness Score
Measures preparation completeness for a civil matter across six areas, pleadings, discovery, expert preparation, evidence organization, motion practice, and trial preparation, shows the supporting detail behind each score, and lists recommended next actions. It assesses preparation only, not likely case outcome, and is not legal advice.
Matter-Centric Case Record
22 integrated trial modules, including witnesses, exhibits, depositions, case timeline, theory of the case, motions in limine, jury selection, jury instructions, and a trial log, organized within one matter file.
Deadline Automation
Deadline chains computed from trigger dates, including Florida civil-procedure, appellate, statute-of-limitations, and presuit clocks; federal removal, remand, and Federal Rules deadline chains across all 94 U.S. district courts; and narrower rule-based coverage for Texas and the District of Columbia.
Discovery Review
An AI-assisted review tool for working through document productions, from first-pass triage through hot-document analysis, reading alongside the attorney on extracted text.
Drafting Studio
More than 190 drafting skills spanning Florida, federal, and practice-area-specific documents such as motions, discovery requests, and correspondence, producing drafts grounded in the matter file for attorney review. Firms can also derive custom drafting skills from their own model documents, subject to attorney approval before use.
Trust Accounting
Per-matter IOTA ledgers with three-way reconciliation, disbursement guards, and fee-gate controls. Trust ledgers are included on every plan; reconciliation and full IOTA features are available on higher-tier plans.
Automated Time Capture
Draft time entries generated from calendar events, emails, and, where a firm connects a phone provider, phone calls, held for attorney review before billing.
Bilingual Client Portal
An English/Spanish portal where clients can view their matter and sign documents, with an AI assistant answering routine questions and escalating to firm staff as needed.
AI Drafting and Intake Assistants
An AI assistant drafts documents and answers matter-specific questions for attorney review, and a separate AI tool screens and structures intake submitted through the firm’s public-facing website; both are disclosed to users as AI tools.
Microsoft Integrations
Add-ins for Word, including template filling, redlining, citation checking, and filing tools, and for Outlook, including email logging, deadline extraction, and conflict/privilege send-checks, plus two-way sync with Google Calendar and Microsoft 365 calendars.
AI Assistant Connector
A hosted connector built on the Model Context Protocol (32 tools) that lets a firm query, and on certain plans update, its own matter data directly from a connected Claude or ChatGPT account, scoped to each user’s existing permissions.
Mobile App and Reporting
An Android mobile application, and firm-management reports covering work-in-progress aging, realization, referral-source performance, and practice-area profitability.
