LegalMate

LegalMate is a communication capture platform for law firms built on top of Clio. It connects to a firm's phone system (Dialpad, RingCentral, or Quo) and Microsoft 365 email, automatically logging calls and emails into the correct matter without requiring changes to how attorneys place calls or send messages. Setup is completed once at the admin level and applies across the firm.

Call Capture and Transcription
Inbound and outbound calls are recorded and transcribed automatically. Each call is matched to the correct contact and matter in Clio using phone number and contact data already stored in the practice management system, including fuzzy matching for numbers not recorded in an exact format.

AI Summaries and Time Entries
Each call generates a structured summary, a Clio time entry with a written description of the call, and a communication log entry. Summaries can be customized to reflect a firm's practice area and documentation preferences.

Follow-Up Email Drafting
A draft follow-up email is generated after each call, based on the call's content, for attorney review and use.

Email Integration
Through Microsoft 365, the same capture, summarization, and matter-matching process applies to inbound and outbound emails.

Searchable Records and AI Chat
Call and email records, including full transcripts, are searchable within LegalMate. Users can query communication history through an AI chat interface, including requests to summarize prior calls or surface recent activity on a matter.
