Juris
by Kwata Team
Juris combines matter organization, document intake, AI-assisted research and drafting, and argument preparation in a single platform. Each firm’s data is held in an isolated database schema and encrypted per firm.
Key features and functions include:
Matter Organization
Matters are structured as a library of shelves by practice area, cases with client details, and chapters for evidence, correspondence, authorities and medical records.
Document Intake and Search
Documents can be added by upload, phone scan, email or connected cloud storage. Files are processed with OCR and indexed so Sage can answer questions about specific documents with source references.
Privilege Protection
Documents flagged as privileged are excluded from all AI processing, enforced at the database query level before any retrieval takes place.
Sage Working Modes
Sage offers six modes: general research, case mode for reasoning across uploaded documents, analysis of strengths, weaknesses and applicable law, investigative review of gaps and contradictions in the record, opposing view using adverse authorities, and moot.
Citation and Quotation Verification
Sage checks citations against a case-law database and links each one for the lawyer to confirm, labelling any citation that cannot be verified. Quotations are checked against the judgment, and where a judgment cannot be read, the quotation is identified as unchecked.
Good Law Check
Sage surfaces signs that a case may no longer be good law, such as overruling, reversal or distinction, and indicates where to confirm its status.
Drafting in the User’s Style
Prior briefs and appeals can be uploaded so Sage adapts to the user’s writing style. Appeals, factums, motions, submissions and letters are drafted from the case file with authorities gathered first, and exported to Word or PDF with firm letterhead.
Draft Approval Workflow
Drafts remain drafts until a lawyer approves them, and a partner reviews and approves each draft before it is filed to the matter. Drafts exported before approval are stamped as unverified on every page.
Oral Argument Practice
Arguments can be mooted before a simulated bench for the relevant forum, which questions weak points and produces a scored report on clarity, citations, structure and completeness. Sage does not research, profile or predict named judges in any jurisdiction.
Deadline Tracking
Deadlines are computed from a trigger date and the applicable rule, with the source rule cited and email reminders sent ahead of the date. Immigration deadline presets are included, and custom rules can be built for other practice areas. Nothing is filed automatically.
Secure Client and Expert Access
Clients and expert witnesses can view documents through a portal link using a one-time email code, without creating an account. Each document view is logged, and access can be revoked at any time.
Outcome Analytics
Firm outcomes from closed matters are reported by issue and over time.
Data Protection
Each file request is checked against the firm it belongs to, and client data is encrypted per firm and not used to train AI models. Firms can export or delete their data at any time.
