iFinder
by IntraFind
iFinder is an enterprise search platform that provides organizations with a central access point for searching across all internal data sources. The platform combines full-text search, semantic search, natural language processing, and generative AI to surface relevant results from structured and unstructured content, with results filtered according to each user's access rights.
Key Features & Functions:
Semantic and Full-Text Search
iFinder interprets search queries based on meaning rather than exact wording, identifying synonyms, related terms, and contextually relevant documents. Linguistic processing includes lemmatization, which normalizes terms to their base form, and compound decomposition, which breaks compound words into component parts to broaden result coverage. Diacritical marks, unit conversions, and orthographic variants are also handled automatically.
iAssistant Generative AI Integration
An integrated AI assistant that provides direct answers and summaries alongside standard search results, drawing from the organization's own indexed data. Users can ask questions in plain language and interact with retrieved documents through a document chat function. Multiple documents can be grouped into smart collections for targeted, team-accessible chat sessions.
Rights-Based Search and Multi-Tenancy
Access control lists from connected systems, including SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Confluence, are transferred and enforced within iFinder. Search results, autocomplete suggestions, and AI responses are restricted to content each user is authorized to see. Multi-tenancy allows centralized installation with individually configured search profiles delivered across multiple sites or user groups.
Search Profiles and Customization
Administrators can create search profiles for specific user groups or individuals, restricting searches to defined data sources, document types, languages, or location-specific content. Filters support alphabetical sorting and exclusion of specific results.
Connectors and Data Source Integration
iFinder connects to a broad range of data sources through an extensive library of pre-built connectors, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Confluence, Liferay, Documentum, ServiceNow, and NetApp ONTAP, among others. Federated search and the OpenSearch standard are also supported. Custom connectors can be developed on request.
File Format Coverage
The platform indexes a wide range of file formats including PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, scanned documents, images, audio, and video files, with metadata and full text indexed across formats.
Content Enrichment and Classification
iFinder automatically generates and manages metadata and keywords from document content using linguistic and AI-based methods. Documents can be automatically classified and clustered by topic, with information extraction identifying named entities such as people, keywords, and technical terms.
iFinder GDPR Module
A dedicated module for searching internal data sources including file servers and email systems for personally identifiable information. Supports identification and location of personal data to facilitate responses to data subject access requests.
Deployment Options
iFinder is available as an on-premises installation, cloud deployment, hybrid environment, SaaS, or managed service. The platform can operate entirely without connection to public cloud services, making it suitable for organizations with data sovereignty or critical infrastructure requirements.
Product Packages
Specialized configurations are available including iFinder Confluence Search, optimized for use within Atlassian Confluence and available on the Atlassian Marketplace; iFinder GDPR for personal data discovery; and iFinder for NetApp, a NetApp-certified real-time search solution for NetApp file services.
