Adjurn is a cloud-based practice management platform for UK solicitors, barristers, and law firms. It combines matter management, time and billing, client accounts, documents, SRA compliance, and legal AI in a single system.

Client Intake and Matter Management
Covers client intake with KYC/AML and sanctions screening, conflict checks, matter templates, and client account tracking.
Time Recording and Billing
Records time in six-minute units, manually or through automatic time capture on Windows and Mac. Handles invoices, recurring invoices, and disbursements, with card payments through Stripe, direct debit through GoCardless, and accounting sync with Xero.
Client Accounts
Manages client accounts, with three-way reconciliation on the SRA five-week cycle.
Automated Compliance and Finance Alerts
Runs nightly checks across the firm to flag overdue invoices, incomplete client due diligence, upcoming practising certificate renewals, CPD shortfalls, and overdrawn client accounts. Each alert goes to the responsible compliance, finance, team leader, or matter supervisor role, and escalates to the principal if no action is taken.
SRA Compliance
Includes an undertakings register, breaches and complaints logs, suspicious activity reports, CPD tracking, and supervision workflows. Provides sign-off flows for COLP, COFA, and MLRO roles, with immutable audit logs.
Legal AI
Lets fee earners draft, research, review documents, and summarise matters within the matter file, using Anthropic Claude or OpenAI ChatGPT. Research covers England and Wales case law and legislation and the SRA Standards and Regulations. Drafting draws on more than 275 UK-style templates. Contract review flags risky clauses, and reusable playbooks are supported.
AI Data Protection
Runs AI processing on AWS in London by default, under a policy that blocks AWS AI services from retaining or using firm content for model improvement. AI output is cleaned of invisible tracking characters before it reaches a document. Adjurn Shield is an optional firm-wide add-on, currently in beta, that removes client identity from data before any AI call leaves the server.
Documents and E-Signature
Supports document review, document comparison, and e-signature through SignWell. Synced cloud storage is available through Adjurn Cloud.
Client Portal and Collaboration
Provides a client portal with client messaging, plus a team workspace, firm messaging, tasks, reminders, and key dates. Microsoft Teams and Zoom are available for meetings.
Firm Management and HR
Includes dashboards covering utilisation, lawyer and team rankings, and accounts receivable ageing. Also covers HR records, org charts, and role-based permissions.
