Zap2Doc is a self-service conversion tool that organizes the plain-text file and loose media files produced by a WhatsApp export into a readable record of the exchange. Multiple conversations can be processed together through a business account.
Key features and functions include:
Chronological Layout
Every message is grouped by day and shown with its sender and timestamp, in the order it was sent.
Media in Place
Images are embedded inline next to their message, PDF attachments are previewed within the document, and videos are summarized as a grid of time-stamped frames.
Voice-Note Transcription
Each audio message is transcribed automatically with language detection, and the transcript is printed where the audio was sent.
Cover Page
A cover page lists the participants, the period covered and counts of messages, images and audio minutes.
Date-Range Selection
Documents can be limited to a specified period.
Searchable Output and Markdown Export
The PDF is fully text-searchable, and each conversation is also provided as a Markdown file for use in other tools.
Preview Before Processing
Users review a preview and conversation statistics and choose a transcription level before processing, and media are not processed until an order is placed.
Batch Processing
Business accounts can upload, review and process many conversations together and download all PDFs at once.
Data Retention
Uploads are transferred over an encrypted connection, and uploaded exports, previews and finished PDFs are deleted after fixed retention periods.
