Vaquill AI
Vaquill AI is a primary-law data API that provides structured, citation-linked access to U.S. federal and state law for use in legal, compliance, and AI applications.
Key features and functions include:
Primary Law Coverage
The API provides access to the complete U.S. Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Register, executive orders and presidential proclamations and memoranda issued since 2015, federal and state constitutions, and the statutory codes of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The dataset totals more than 4.8 million sections.
REST API and MCP Server
Data is accessible through a REST API or a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server built for AI agents, giving developers two paths for integrating primary-law data into applications.
Citation and Source Linking
Each section returned includes a citation and a link back to its official government source, along with hierarchy metadata such as title, division, and effective dates.
Retrieval-Ready Data Formatting
Content is delivered pre-chunked and embedded for use in RAG pipelines, with full text available in both HTML and plain text.
Open Dataset
A subset of the data is published separately as a free, openly licensed dataset (CC BY 4.0) covering state statutory codes, the U.S. Code, and state constitutions, available for self-hosting.
