Trademark Search
by NexGenData
Trademark Search by NextGen Data supports first-pass trademark clearance, competitor research and status tracking by returning official register data in a consistent record format. Each record identifies the trademark office it came from.
Key features and functions include:
Mark Name Search
Searches by mark name run against a multi-office trademark database and can be limited to selected trademark offices. Where results from the primary register fall short, additional records may be drawn from the Australian register. A list of names can be searched in a single run, with each record noting the name it matched.
Serial and Registration Number Lookup
US serial or registration numbers can be looked up directly against the official US trademark record.
Structured Trademark Records
Records include mark text, owner, status, a live or dead flag, serial and registration numbers, filing and registration dates, Nice classes, goods and services, mark type, design code, prosecution history, a link to the official record and an image link.
Broadened Search Fallback
When an exact name search returns no results, the tool retries with a broadened query, first removing legal suffixes and then using the most distinctive word, and labels those results as broadened alongside the original and matched queries. An exact-only setting turns this off.
Similarity Scoring
Each record carries a string-similarity score as a screening signal. The score is not an assessment of likelihood of confusion.
Watch Mode
Saved searches re-run on a schedule and return only marks that are new or whose status has changed, such as moving to publication for opposition, registration or abandonment. Multiple watches can run side by side under separate labels.
Data Export and API Access
Results can be exported as JSON, CSV or Excel or retrieved through an API, supporting uses such as keeping docketing spreadsheets current.
