Sovereign Legal is an AI-powered document intelligence platform for law firms, combining natural language document search, brief writing assistance, and contract review, with privilege protection built into the platform's architecture. Sovereign Legal Vault applies retrieval-augmented generation and vector search to a firm's own document repository, allowing attorneys to query matters in natural language and receive answers with source citations.

Key Features & Functions:

Document Intelligence
Contracts, briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials are uploaded as PDFs and indexed using vector search, making clauses, arguments, and provisions searchable through natural language queries.

Brief Writing Assistant
Attorneys can store brief templates in FirmLibrary and query them when working on new matters to extract applicable arguments, legal standards, and language, which the platform adapts to new fact patterns while maintaining source citations.

Contract Review and Comparison
The platform identifies risks, extracts key terms, and compares contract versions side-by-side. A risk scoring system flags high-risk provisions such as indemnification, liability limitations, and termination rights, and suggests recommended changes.

Matter-Based Organization
Each client matter is assigned an isolated workspace, keeping documents, queries, and analysis separated by matter. Users can toggle an option to search FirmLibrary templates alongside matter-specific materials.

Privilege Protection
Documents are rendered as images during preview to prevent exposure to browser-based AI features that could send content to third-party servers.

Audit Logging and Compliance
The platform maintains audit logs tracking queries and document access, with personally identifiable information sanitized before logging.

Disbursement Export
Billing data can be exported in CSV, Excel, or LEDES format for client billing.

Cloud Infrastructure
The platform runs on AWS Bedrock, using the Claude Sonnet AI model for legal analysis and Amazon Titan for document embeddings, with a Weaviate vector database tagged by firm and matter. Each firm has a dedicated S3 storage bucket, and data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Customer data is not used to train AI models.
