Overview

In October 2011, ShareFile was acquired by Citrix Systems. Under terms of the agreement, ShareFile was offered as a standalone service in addition to its software becoming integrated into Citrix products.  In September 2024, it was announced that ShareFile was acquired by Progress, an automation and IT Monitoring company.

Key Features and Functions include:

  • Secure File Sharing and Storage

    Offers data room functionality for due diligence, M&A, and other confidential transactions, including granular permissions, audit trails, and secure document access controls.
  • Security, Compliance, and Governance Controls
    Provides enterprise-grade security features such as encryption (SSL/TLS and AES-256), granular permissions, activity tracking, watermarking, and remote wipe capabilities. Supports compliance requirements across regulated industries.
  • Integration with Enterprise Systems
    Integrates with tools such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, SharePoint, and other enterprise systems, enabling users to access and manage documents within existing workflows.
  • Mobile and Cross-Platform Access
    Accessible via web, desktop, and mobile applications, allowing users to collaborate and manage documents from any location.
