Send to Case
Send to Case is a browser extension that connects to Clio Manage to upload documents to case matters without a separate download-then-upload step.
Key features and functions include:
Right-click upload
Users can right-click a download link on a webpage and send the file directly to a selected Clio matter, without first saving it to a local device.
Batch upload
The extension can scan a webpage for multiple downloadable files and send them to a matter in a single action, intended for use with evidence portals and document repositories containing several files.
ZIP extraction
ZIP archives are automatically extracted on upload, with each contained file added to the matter as an individual document rather than as a compressed folder.
Folder selection
Users can browse and select a specific folder or subfolder within a matter as the upload destination, or set a default folder to bypass manual selection on future uploads.
Drag-and-drop upload
Files stored locally on a user's device can be uploaded by dragging them into the extension interface, in addition to the browser-based right-click method.
Smart filename suggestions
When uploading an attachment from a Gmail message, the extension suggests a filename derived from the sender, subject line, and date; users may accept or replace this suggestion.
Authentication and data handling
The extension authenticates to Clio using Clio's OAuth 2.0 flow. According to the vendor, file contents are transferred directly from the user's browser to Clio's storage infrastructure and are not retained on the vendor's servers; OAuth tokens and a cache of recent matters are stored locally in the browser.
