Overview

Relativity aiR is a cloud-based legal data intelligence platform supporting e-discovery, litigation, investigations, and compliance matters for law firms, corporations, government agencies, and legal service providers. The product was previously marketed as RelativityOne and was rebranded to Relativity aiR in September 2026 to reflect the platform's expanded generative AI capabilities.

Key features and functions include:

Full Matter Lifecycle on One Platform
Supports legal hold and preservation, data collection, processing, review and analysis, case strategy, and production within a single system, so data does not need to move between separate tools at each stage.

Generative AI Review Tools (aiR for Review, aiR for Privilege)
Uses generative AI, built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service models, to identify responsive documents, flag key issues and confidential business information, and support privilege determinations, with citations and rationale provided for each output and no upfront training set required.

aiR for Case Strategy
Applies generative AI to surface key facts, entities, and relationships from case documents and transcripts, and to generate chronologies, witness summaries, and deposition outlines to support litigation and investigation prep.

aiR Assist Conversational Search
A natural-language query tool that lets users ask questions of large document sets and receive cited answers, intended to speed up early case assessment.

Relativity claiR
A separate conversational AI assistant aimed at lawyers directly, allowing plain-language questions across the full scope of a matter's data, with responses described by the vendor as cited and auditable.

Data Collection from Enterprise and AI Sources
Collects data from widely used enterprise platforms, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint), Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Chat, Groups), Slack, Box, Cellebrite, Smarsh, X1, and iManage, as well as from enterprise AI chat tools including Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Google Gemini.

Extensibility (MCP, APIs, App Hub)
Offers a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector for integrating external AI applications, a REST API for custom workflow development, and an App Hub of partner-built applications, allowing the platform to be extended without moving data outside it.
