The iManage MCP Server is a connectivity layer that allows AI tools built on the Model Context Protocol standard to access content stored in iManage in place, without the content being copied or exported to third-party systems.

Standardized AI connectivity
The MCP Server provides one configurable endpoint that MCP-compliant AI tools can connect to, replacing the need for a separate custom integration for each AI vendor an organization uses.

Governed access without bulk extraction
Content is retrieved from iManage on a per-request basis rather than exported in bulk. Organizations are advised to confirm with their AI vendors what data leaves iManage through the connection and how it is subsequently handled.

Permission-bound and auditable access
AI tools can only retrieve content the requesting user already has access to under iManage's existing permission structure and ethical walls. Each retrieval is authenticated and logged for audit purposes.

Open, vendor-neutral architecture
Because MCP is an open protocol rather than a proprietary API, the connector is intended to work with current and future AI tools without requiring organizations to rebuild integrations as their AI vendor landscape changes.
