Lua is used to create and manage meeting records across a matter, from capture and attorney review through follow-up and billing.
Key features and functions include:
Meeting Notes and Transcripts
Generates any combination of summaries, transcripts, and action items. Each line of a summary is linked to its source in the transcript, and transcription does not rely on a large language model.
Meeting Capture
Records in-person meetings through the device microphone, phone calls by merging a dedicated Lua number onto the call, and video conferences on common meeting platforms. Meetings can be scheduled for capture in advance.
Note Organization and Search
Organizes and searches notes by folder, client or matter, privilege status, or participants.
Collaborative Editing
Provides a live collaborative editor with tracked changes against the original record and role-based permissions. Records can be locked at any point to prevent further edits or sharing.
Privilege and Review Controls
Notes can be tagged as attorney work product or client communication, which places them in logically segregated storage, and stamped as reviewed by an attorney to lock edits. Unreviewed notes carry a disclaimer that the firm has not adopted the record as accurate.
In-Meeting Controls
Offers an optional live transcript and a desktop widget for pausing capture, going off the record, striking portions of the meeting, or cancelling the note entirely.
Action Items
Produces a checkable list of meeting tasks, each assigned to a user with a due date and a link to its source in the transcript. Follow-up emails and calendar invites can be drafted directly from action items.
Time Entries and System Sync
Generates billing narratives and time entries and syncs meeting records to the relevant client or matter in connected practice and document management systems. Notes can also be exported to Word and PDF.
Meeting Assistant
Answers questions across past meetings, drafts follow-ups and documents, summarizes uploaded documents linked to a meeting, and supports preparation for upcoming calls. Notes can also be refined and translated.
Recording and Retention Policies
Applies ready-to-use data and ethics defaults, or firm-configured recording and retention rules set by practice area, meeting type, or client and matter.
