LawVu Draft
Acquired by LawVu on Dec 18, 2025
LawVu Draft was developed by ClauseBase, which LawVu acquired in 2025. Its functions are organized into five areas: Draft, Review, Ask, Refine, and Knowledge. All five draw on an organization’s approved language.
Key features and functions include:
Draft
Generates suggestions, clauses, and rewrites based on document context, builds drafts from smart templates using approved language, and summarizes contracts and clauses in simpler language. Guided questionnaires allow clients or colleagues to create simple agreements on a self-service basis.
Review
Redlines contracts against an organization’s clause library and playbooks, inserting approved alternatives while preserving formatting, and flags risky language, inconsistencies, and missing provisions. Counterparty tracked changes can be summarized and analyzed.
Ask
Answers questions and produces reports across one or more documents, with answers linked to source text, extracts key data and obligations into tables, and inserts formatted responses directly into the open document.
Refine
Detects technical errors such as missing or unused definitions, unresolved placeholders, invalid cross-references, and incorrect dates, improves grammar and readability, and compares documents side by side, including scanned PDFs. Third-party clauses can be redrafted using approved language.
Knowledge
Maintains a shared library of clauses, smart templates with conditional logic, playbooks, and precedent contracts, with clause extraction from past documents, AI-assisted search, playbook generation from standard templates, and connections to existing document repositories.
