LawDiver

LawDiver is a U.S. legal research platform that provides free access to court opinions, statutes, and administrative decisions, along with citator and citation-checking tools and developer access through an API and MCP server. It is used by solo and small-firm attorneys, self-represented litigants, law students and clinics, journalists and investigators, academic researchers, legal technology developers, and organizations licensing legal data in bulk.

Caselaw Search
Provides full-text access to more than 10 million opinions from the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal courts of appeals, the federal district courts, and the appellate and supreme courts of all 50 states. Results can be filtered by jurisdiction, and official PDFs can be downloaded. Basic search requires no login.

Multiple Search Modes
Supports citation and case name lookup, Boolean search with proximity connectors, and semantic search using plain-English descriptions.

AI Summaries and Holdings
Generates AI summaries and structured holdings for court opinions.

GoodLaw Citator
Flags overruled and negatively treated cases, using a combination of AI and human review. It is supported by a citation graph of about 100 million connections between opinions.

CiteDiver Citation Checking
Checks the citations in legal documents against the caselaw database, using an AI- and human-assisted approach. Requires an account and is currently free during rollout.

Specialty Authorities
Includes about 200,000 decisions and materials from specialty tribunals and agencies. These include the Tax Court and IRS, immigration bodies (BIA, AAO, and OCAHO), the NLRB, the SEC, the EPA Environmental Appeals Board, the ITC (Section 337), and the USPTO (PTAB, TTAB, and BPAI).

Federal and State Statutes
Covers the U.S. Code and Code of Federal Regulations, along with more than 1.5 million state statutory provisions for all 50 states and D.C.

API, MCP Server, and Bulk Data
Offers a free caselaw API and an MCP server so developers can embed caselaw search, retrieval, and citation checking in their own applications and AI assistants. These require an account. Opinions, citation graphs, and embeddings are available through bulk data licensing.
