LAWCLERK
LAWCLERK is a legal services marketplace that connects hiring attorneys with freelance lawyers for flat-fee projects, hourly associate work, and full-time remote placements.
Key features and functions include:
Project Marketplace
Hiring attorneys post projects with a description, deadline, and flat fee. Freelance attorneys with relevant experience apply, and the hiring attorney reviews resumes, writing samples, and prior reviews before selecting a Lawclerk.
Team Building
Firms can build a standing team of hand-selected freelance attorneys for repeat work, organized by practice area, rather than sourcing a new Lawclerk for each project.
Conflicts and Confidentiality
The platform runs a two-tier conflicts check and requires a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement to be executed for each project.
Secure Communication and Document Sharing
Hiring attorneys and Lawclerks are given a document library and an encrypted chat function to share materials and discuss work.
Billing and Time Tracking
Fees are charged on a flat-fee basis and held in escrow until the hiring attorney approves the final work product. A time card is provided so the hiring attorney can bill the Lawclerk's time to their own client.
Dedicated Advisor Support
Hiring attorneys are assigned a dedicated LAWCLERK Advisor to help onboard and use the platform.
Options by Firm Size
LAWCLERK offers distinct solutions for solo and small firms, mid-size firms, and large law firms, along with hourly associate and full-time hiring options (the latter currently in beta for Nevada and Arizona).
