Overview

Kim is an AI-based immigration research and workflow platform developed by Kognitico that generates responses to immigration questions from official U.S. government sources rather than open web content. The platform is built to support immigration attorneys, law firms, and corporate HR and immigration teams researching immigration law and assisting clients through the immigration process.

Key features and functions include:

Ask Kim
An AI research assistant that answers immigration questions with references drawn from the USCIS Policy Manual, the Immigration and Nationality Act, the Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Register notices, USCIS policy alerts, and Department of State Visa Bulletins.

AskAttorney
Connects platform users to immigration attorneys for live consultations when individualized legal advice is needed.

VisaReady
An AI-powered mock interview tool that helps applicants prepare for consular visa interviews; usable by attorneys and consultants supporting client readiness.

DS-160 Copilot
A guided tool that assists with completing Form DS-160, the U.S. nonimmigrant visa application, intended to reduce data entry errors.

Route2US
Analyzes a user's background, qualifications, and goals to identify potential U.S. immigration pathways.

CaseInsights
A case-tracking feature intended to provide immigration case status updates and processing time information. The vendor's product page lists this feature as forthcoming, while the pricing table on the same page lists it as a currently included feature (see Editorial Notes).

Security and Architecture
Kim runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, firm-level data isolation intended to prevent one law firm from accessing another firm's data, and an append-only audit trail retained for 90 days after case closure. Per the vendor, user inputs and uploaded documents are not used to train Kognitico's AI models or third-party models without consent.
