Gaius-Lex

Gaius-Lex

Overview

Gaius-Lex is an AI-powered legal research and workflow automation platform designed for European legal professionals operating in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany. The platform addresses data sovereignty and confidentiality requirements through local deployment options that allow sensitive legal information to remain within client-controlled infrastructure.

Key features and functions include:

Agent Gaius autonomous research Agent Gaius operates as an AI legal assistant that breaks legal questions into structured research stages, searches relevant statutes and jurisprudence across four jurisdictions, and compiles cited analysis with verified source documentation. The system checks the existence of case signatures and statutory references in its daily updated legal database rather than generating unverified content.

Multi-jurisdiction legal coverage The platform maintains current legal databases for Polish law including Civil Code and Constitutional Tribunal rulings, Czech law including Občanský zákoník, German law including BGB and BGH jurisprudence, and Austrian law including ABGB and Oberster Gerichtshof rulings. The database updates daily and includes registry data such as Poland's KRS business registry.

Document analysis and drafting The system analyzes uploaded contracts and internal documents to identify risks, abusive clauses, and compliance issues. It generates drafts of pleadings, responses, client communications, and comparison tables based on research findings and template documents.

Data anonymization and security Built-in tools detect and anonymize sensitive data in uploaded documents. All processing occurs either in encrypted European Economic Area infrastructure for SaaS deployment or entirely on-premise within the client's own systems, with no data used for training AI models.

Citation verification Legal conclusions are linked to specific statutory articles or court rulings with verifiable footnotes. The system flags instances where it cannot confirm a source rather than presenting unverified information as factual.

Flexible deployment architecture The platform operates through lightweight small language models that can run locally rather than requiring connection to external cloud AI services. Deployment options include standard SaaS, hybrid configurations, and full on-premise installation depending on organizational data governance requirements.
