Overview

Echo Sync is an API-based content synchronization product that connects document management systems (DMS) and other enterprise applications across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. It is designed for law firms and corporate legal and IT departments seeking to automate content workflows, enforce information governance, and support secure collaboration without requiring users to leave their preferred applications.

Key Features & Functions:

Content Synchronization
Supports one-way publish, bi-directional sync, and archiving between connected systems. Synchronization can be scheduled, triggered automatically by configurable rules, or initiated by administrators or users. Documents can be deleted or replaced with a link or stub upon sync.

Metadata and Security Mapping
Maps and synchronizes content metadata and security settings across connected repositories, maintaining consistent permissions and classification between systems.

Workflow Automation
Rules-based synchronization across cloud and on-premise systems to streamline content workflows and reduce manual handling between applications.

Remote Working Support
Ensures content created or modified in applications such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, or SharePoint is synchronized back to the DMS of record, maintaining governance while supporting distributed work.

Secure Collaboration
Configurable, security-trimmed content sharing between internal teams and external parties using native APIs, without bypassing DMS security controls.

Information Governance and Archiving
Supports automatic or user-initiated archiving of content to the DMS, reducing cloud storage costs and maintaining a single version of the record. The Echo Admin Studio provides administrative oversight, error reporting, and audit history.

Intranet Governance
Automatically archives documents from company intranets such as SharePoint to the designated repository of record.

Connectivity
Connects to a broad range of repositories and enterprise systems via native APIs, including Amazon S3, Azure Storage, Box, eDOCS, File Shares, Google Drive, HighQ, iManage, NetDocuments, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, Salesforce, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Anaqua's AQX and PATTSY WAVE platforms. Additional connectors are under development.

This solution was formerly known as SeeUnity. In May 2021, Anaqua acquired SeeUnity. The acquisition aimed to enhance Anaqua’s ability to connect its IP management software with various enterprise systems, improving workflow efficiency for corporate legal teams and law firms. In 2025, Nordic Capital acquired Anaqua, supporting its continued expansion and innovation in intellectual property management solutions.
