DocketNexus

Overview

DocketNexus is a legal research platform that indexes United States federal civil litigation and organizes it around public companies, allowing users to review a company's litigation history from a single reference point.

Key features and functions include:

Company-Centric Litigation Search
Users search by company name or stock ticker to reach a company page listing the federal civil cases naming that company, opposing parties, courts, case types, and recent docket activity.

Case, Party, Judge, and Statute Pages
Beyond company pages, the platform generates pages for individual cases, parties, presiding judges, industries, and cited statutes, allowing users to research litigation by court, judge, case type, or statute in addition to by company.

Case Disposition Records
For a subset of older cases, the platform displays how a case was concluded, sourced from the Federal Judicial Center's Integrated Database and covering substantially through 2021.

Litigation Topic Collections
The platform maintains curated groupings of federal cases around specific litigation subjects (for example, mass tort and consumer litigation categories), each built on a disclosed membership rule.

Document Access and Retrieval
Court filings already archived by the platform are available at no cost. Filings not yet archived can be retrieved individually for a flat fee, or through a subscription plan that provides a monthly allotment of document credits toward retrieval of additional filings.
