The Legal Research Toolkit supports direct search, citation lookup, and case verification tasks within the same environment.

DescrybeLM
DescrybeLM accepts legal questions, briefs, pleadings, and documents as inputs. It clarifies jurisdiction, posture, and key facts before proceeding, conducts grounded analysis, and surfaces the authorities and reasoning underlying each output. Research sessions can be saved and revisited, and work product can be exported to Word.

Brief and Document Review
The platform supports review of briefs and pleadings for citation accuracy, checking whether cited cases are real, current, accurately quoted, and substantively support the propositions for which they are cited.

Legal Research Toolkit
The Legal Research Toolkit supports search by concept, keyword, case name, citation, statute, regulation, or legal issue. Search draws on structured case summaries, legal issue mappings, and citation relationships in addition to opinion text, enabling retrieval by legal meaning rather than keyword match alone.

Cytator™ and Backward Cytator™
The Cytator™ provides treatment signals at the case level and at the legal issue level. The Backward Cytator™ surfaces how an opinion treated the authorities it relied on at the time it was written, a perspective not provided by standard citators.

Legal Issue Explorer
The Legal Issue Explorer enables users to trace how courts have handled a legal issue across cases and jurisdictions, including related issues and patterns in how the law has developed.

Descrybe Legal Engine for Claude
The Descrybe Legal Engine connects to Claude via MCP, giving Claude access to a set of focused legal research tools backed by the Descrybe primary-law corpus. Supported tasks include concept-based case search, statute and regulation search, citation resolution, case summarisation, quote verification, treatment review, and source PDF retrieval. Users can inspect tool calls and results within the Claude interface.
