Matter Management
Clarra provides a centralized, matter-centric workspace for tracking case status, court information, jurisdictions, assigned team members, key contacts, events, documents, and timekeeping. Higher-tier plans support sub-matter linking for mass tort, class action, arbitration, and mediation matters, as well as tracking of multiple courts and case numbers per matter.

Event Management and Docketing
The platform includes a closed-loop docketing system that consolidates deadlines, tasks, appointments, and reminders in a single calendar and list view. Integration with Microsoft 365, Google Calendar, Outlook, and CalendarRules enables court rule–based event generation and automated deadline tracking. Events can be moved in bulk and managed as recurring series.

Clarra supports cloud-based storage and tracking of case documents, correspondence, and filings, with tagging, manner-of-service tracking, and docketing status workflows. Integration with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams is available. Automated notifications alert assigned users and docketing staff when new documents are logged.

Timekeeping and Accounting
The platform includes a timekeeping module with support for multiple simultaneous timers, activity and task code customization, timeslip duplication, and user classification tracking. Billing reports can be exported in multiple formats. Recovery tracking tools allow firms to record settlement distributions, fee and cost splits, and recovery phases.

Generative AI and Automation
Clarra's built-in generative AI tools support AI-generated timeslips using natural language prompts, document and email summarization, and extraction of critical docketing deadlines from documents and communications. Workflow automation uses trigger-and-action rules, with Zapier integration providing no-code connectivity to over 6,000 external applications. A REST-based public API allows programmatic access to matters, events, timeslips, contacts, and documents.

Reporting and Dashboards
Standard and manager-level dashboards provide visibility into caseloads, timekeeping, documents, and recoveries. Higher-tier plans include a detailed matter dashboard with milestone tracking and custom report creation. Reports are exportable in CSV, Excel, PDF, and Word formats.

Security and Access Controls
Clarra employs encryption of data at rest and in transit, multi-factor authentication (including phishing-resistant options at higher tiers), role-based permissions across 70+ access controls, and audit trails for matters, events, and documents. The platform supports Azure AD and SSO integration and is hosted on Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
