CaseRead is a legal research platform built for mid-market law firms that combines artificial intelligence with a firm's internal case files and public legal databases to generate research answers with sourced citations.

Natural Language Legal Research
Users submit legal questions in plain language rather than using Boolean search operators. The platform searches public law across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, along with federal law, concurrently with a firm's uploaded case files.

Citation Verification
Responses are generated with citations linked to source material. A separate tool, described as a "Hallucination Shield," checks a batch of citations at a time for accuracy.

Legal Database Coverage
The platform provides access to an extensive database of statute sections and court decisions, along with authenticated documents from the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, and govinfo.gov.

Document Storage and Management
Files can be stored in a built-in repository (CaseRead Vault) with database isolation and encryption, or connected through Google Drive or OneDrive. The platform also includes client upload portals for receiving documents through secure links.

Document Editing and Collaboration
An in-browser editor supports Word file formats, tracked changes, and version history. Documents can be shared through expiring, password-protected links, and team members can be added through shared invitation links without assigned role hierarchies.

Project-Based Organization
Research, documents, and conversations can be grouped into projects to keep individual matters separate from one another.
