ArkLegal AI is an AI legal research and drafting tool for U.S. law. It combines keyword and semantic search over primary legal materials with language model synthesis and a separate citation verification layer.

Answers legal questions using hybrid keyword and semantic retrieval with a legal-domain reranking model. Sources include over 9 million court opinions, 2.2 million statute sections, and 124,000 court rules, along with federal regulations and Federal Register, IRS, USPTO, and bankruptcy materials. All sources are government-published primary materials.

Jurisdiction Controls
Users can select up to two jurisdictions per query from federal circuits, the 50 states and D.C., and local law filters for state, county, and city ordinances.

Citation Verification
Checks recognized citations for existence against database records, compares quotations with source text, and compares characterized holdings with extracted legal points. These checks run separately from the drafting model. Matched citations link to the source record, and unresolved citations are flagged for review.

Multi-Step Research
Complex questions can be broken into sub-questions researched in parallel, with follow-up searches on issues found in earlier passes.

Specialty Research Portals
Dedicated portals for bankruptcy, tax, immigration, and intellectual property draw on specialty sources such as Treasury regulations, IRS rulings and written determinations, the Bankruptcy Code and rules, USPTO materials including the MPEP, and immigration administrative decisions.

Targeted research tools cover areas including aviation, maritime, securities, healthcare, employment, consumer finance, environmental, customs and trade, election law, housing, and taxation.

Matter Workspaces
Organizes documents, research, and notes by client matter, with Litigation and Transaction modes. Custom instructions can be saved to guide responses across sessions.

Research Skills Library
Pre-built workflows for case briefs, contrary authority searches, motion outlines, statute analysis, research memos, and opinion comparison.

Drafting Skills
Generates first drafts grounded in retrieved authority, including demand letters, complaints, answers and affirmative defenses, discovery requests and responses, client advisory letters, affidavits, and appellate briefs. Litigation skills draft against the pleadings and record in a matter, and transactional skills work from the deal documents.

Document Analysis
Analyzes, summarizes, compares, and extracts information from uploaded contracts, pleadings, discovery, and records, with page-level citations to the source files.

Adjudication Mode
A dedicated plan for judges, arbitrators, and mediators includes instructions for neutral decision-makers and a Case Adjudication mode.

Security Controls
Encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher. Offers per-user and firm data isolation and two-factor authentication. Customer content is not used for model training.
