23VIP is an AI-powered patent drafting platform built with a European-practice-first approach: output is structured by default to European Patent Office conventions and can be customized to the requirements of other jurisdictions or an individual practitioner's drafting style. The platform comprises three integrated tools covering claim development, application drafting, and office action responses.
Key features and functions include:
Claim Drafter
Guides claim development from claim 1 through a full claim tree, with drawing generation and editing, reference number placement either manually or with AI assistance, conversion of claims between jurisdictional formats, and the ability to save and resume projects. Supports input in any language.
Web Drafter
Generates a complete patent application in a single pass or section by section, with in-browser editing and AI chat assistance before download. Handles inventions of varying complexity, in any language.
Reply Drafter
Analyzes office actions against cited prior art and drafts filing-ready replies, working phase by phase with practitioner review at each step. Imports filings automatically from the EPO and USPTO registers, can review a client's own draft reply, and applies saved templates and drafting-style profiles.
Model Selection
Provides per-tool control over the underlying AI model. Firms whose data-governance policies preclude sending invention disclosures to US-hosted AI models can select open-source models hosted in Europe, with no training on user data and no retention after processing. Frontier models such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT are also available, under terms that contractually prohibit training on user data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
