Litigation Management/REMOTE TRIALS

Remote Trials

In various jurisdictions, such as Estonia and Brazil, remote or electronic court proceedings have been common for some time. In other regions, remote trials became a necessity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Subsequently, courts as well as law firms have had to develop platforms and processes to equip lawyers, judges and all those involved in court proceedings to run trials from disparate, remote locations. While Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams and other generic meeting software was initially used for this purpose and is still used in many jurisdictions, custom, fit-for-purpose software solutions have now developed to provide more sophisticated capabilities and to ensure a better experience of remote trial proceedings for all constituents. An example is CourtCall.
