Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) technology includes tools and services that help legal organizations measure, benchmark, and improve diversity outcomes across their workforce. Most solutions in this space provide data and services rather than standalone software, combining benchmarking surveys, advisory consulting, and outsourced data analytics to support diversity leaders in the absence of many dedicated DEI platforms. Capabilities typically include automated capture and standardized calculation of diversity metrics, industry benchmarking, compliance reporting, and increasingly, correlation of diversity and ESG data with broader legal operations metrics such as efficiency, cost, and client outcomes.  Related capabilities also appear as secondary features within work allocation, outside counsel panel management, and matter management and e-billing tools. Generative AI is beginning to support this category by automating survey analysis, summarizing qualitative feedback, and generating natural language insights and recommendations from diversity data.
