Client Portal

Client portal solutions provide a secure, two way interface between a law firm or legal department and its clients, combining capabilities such as case or matter collaboration, joint project management, document and financial access including work in progress, secure messaging, e-signature, and data driven insights into an engagement. While some organizations build custom portals on general enterprise collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365, purpose built client portals increasingly bundle these functions into a single client facing hub rather than spreading them across disconnected tools, often layered on top of an existing intranet or knowledge management investment rather than replacing it. Security and compliance features, including encryption, audit trails, role based and permission aware access, and consent management for evolving privacy regulation, have become baseline expectations rather than differentiators. Mobile first design and multilingual support are increasingly common, reflecting client expectations shaped by consumer banking and healthcare apps. Generative AI is increasingly embedded as an assistant that answers client questions from a firm's approved knowledge base, drafts routine status updates and document reminders for attorney review, and provides real time translation, narrowing the gap between a passive document repository and an active communication layer that anticipates what a client needs to know.
