Practice Management – Landscape Overview

Practice management refers to the systems law firms use to organize and manage the operational side of delivering legal services. For smaller firms, these systems can support matter work as well as operational functions: assigning tasks, managing deadlines, capturing time, billing clients, managing documents, emails, phone calls, and notes, assembling documents, and producing the insights firms need to run as businesses. For larger firms, though legal work happens outside of a practice management system, financial, billing, timekeeping and other operational needs are met by practice management.
