We’ve reached the season for outside counsel firms to announce starting salary increases, associate bonuses, and expectations of record profits per partner – and big jumps in hourly billing rates, of course. There might be news stories of inflation trending down in the rest of the economy, but not here. Reports of the death of the billable have, once again, been greatly exaggerated. How can you innovate the approach to outside counsel fees?
